Creative Fieldwork

Produced by the Field Studies Council in partnership with the Geographical Association, Creative Fieldwork contains ideas for 11 innovative approaches to fieldwork in A level geography. From physical themes (such as calculating the carbon content of trees, cliff surveys, Hudson's equation for evaluating coastal defences) to human themes (such as smell mapping, mood mapping, visual methods, coding of diaries), each fieldwork method has been tested and refined with A level students at FSC Field Centres.
